What do you do all day?

As I have gone to play group, visiting teaching, Relief Society meetings and church, I've been asked several times, "What do you do all day?" Here's a run down of a typical day.

The girls usually wake up around 7:30. Once I hear them up, I hop in the shower. Ewan sleeps until about 8 or 8:30. This is Olivia in her pajamas Sunday morning (the 14th).

Depending on how breakfast goes, the girls take a bath.

Around 8, they're out of the tub and dressed. I've been trying to do their hair so they get used to it. They have to be distracted for a few minutes while I do it.

The girls love their milk sippies. Around 9, they get a milk sippy.

Every other day, Ewan gets a bath. Boy, does he love it! The girls try to help by throwing toys in for him to play with. He hasn't gotten one in the head yet...yay!

They play. Potato Heads, boxes, stuffed animals, dress-up...you name it, they play it.

Sometimes, they have play-dates. This is our neighbor Elliot. I've been watching him on Thursdays so his mom can take some classes at the college.

They play in Ewan's car seat a lot. Sometimes, I have to get the other car seat out so everyone can sit in a car seat. Asilee loves it!

We eat lunch around 12:30. The girls aren't really into peanut butter. They eat apples, cheese, crackers, and lunch meat. Sometimes they get Cheezits.

They all take naps around 1pm for about 2 hours. This is when I get stuff done...!

I use this...

and do this...

and I read this...

and I use this...

and this...

to make this (and dinner if it's a casserole or I do the prep work for dinner so it's not so crazy when Paul gets home)

and then they wake up around 3-3:30. We play, eat snacks, drink milk/apple juice, watch a movie and wait for Daddy.

Paul comes home between 4:30 and 5, and then I use these to go running. I'm upto six miles. Some days he has late meetings and I can't do this. So, if anyone has suggestions for 30min work outs while babies are napping, let me know.

When I get home, I get a few of these. It makes it worth doing all over again tomorrow.

I use this a lot because...

I change these a lot.
I also nurse Ewan every 2-3 hours. I chose not to photograph that.
Well, there you have it. Don't worry, Paul's not one to ever ask me "What do you do all day?"

Now that it's February...!

It's that time of year again. Since it's tradition, and I like to copy my older sister, we've decided to post our New Year's resolutions! Paul and I are all about setting goals and I am a very big list maker even if we forget the list on the counter when we go to the store and the goals we set are the same ones from last year...! We'll start from youngest to oldest.

Ewan would like to
  • Sleep through the night
  • Crawl and walk
  • Keep up with the sisters
  • Eat crackers
  • Try apple juice
  • Avoid getting sat on by the sisters

Aislee would like to
  • wake up happy from naps
  • go down the slide all by herself
  • go to nursery with a smile
  • sleep in a big girl bed
  • give more hugs and kisses to Ewan and Livi

Olivia would like to
  • only give hugs and kisses to Aislee and Ewan
  • learn to say "okay, Mom" instead of "no, no no"
  • share her toys
  • sleep in a big girl bed
  • eat dinner without having to be semi-naked

Molly would like to (sorry, this the last picture we have of me)
  • run a half-marathon in May and then keep running
  • go on a real date with Paul at least once a month
  • read more books
  • not stress out about little things
  • give more hugs and kisses

Paul would like to (I'm doing his)
  • help Molly train for a half-marathon
  • find a babysitter for dates
  • play more
  • teach Ewan how to catch and kick balls
  • give more hugs and kisses
  • take a nap
Well, there you have it. Hopefully, we accomplish our goals for 2010! We look forward to a wonderful year! Good luck to all of you with your resolutions.

Pony Tails!

It's been a long time comin', but the girls (17 mos old) finally have enough hair to put in a pony tail! Yay! For the past week or so, I've been trying to do their hair in the mornings after breakfast. I bought little colored rubber bands and bows. They're pretty good about it the first time I do it. But, as the day goes on, they're not really into letting me fix their hair. The day will come, I'm sure. When Paul gets home, I remind him to tell them how pretty they look with their hair done. It makes them smile.
Ewan is getting to be such a big kid! I took him in for his two month check on Tuesday. He's weighing in at 12lbs 13oz and 24 inches long. He's basically grown out of newborn clothes and is too long to put in most of our 0-3. This is a new thing for me! The girls could wear newborn things for at least 3 months! Ewan is just a happy baby. He smiles and laughs and kicks his feet. He loves the tub and getting his diaper changed. I'm thinking that we may go through a "naked-stage" someday with this kid...! He's a good eater. He hardly ever spits up! We have been very lucky to have such a good baby. It may convince us to add to our little family in a not-so-long-while!

Breakfast. I've had to wash the stuffed animals a few times because they were pretty sticky.

Before church, Ewan was happy...

Then they discovered his eyes...

But Olivia tries to make it all better

Sometimes Olivia ends up with all the stuffed animals!

He's just so cute!

The girls sometimes sit by me and "nurse" their babies. They found my nursing pillow and were sharing.

Aaahhh...

18 months and the pacifiers will be gone!

Ewan Jeffrey

I haven't done a good update/post on Ewan since he's been born. He is a very good baby. We are really enjoying having him in our little family. He's growing much faster than the girls did, or maybe it just seems that way because he started out 2-3lbs bigger than they were. Ewan is around 11lbs at 8 weeks old. I don't think the girls hit 11lbs for 6 months! He's just such a good little guy. He eats every 2-3 hours, sleeps pretty good (gives me an occasional 4-5 hour stretch), coos and smiles, and lets the sisters hug, kiss and pat him. He's content to sit in the bouncer when the girls are awake so I can play, feed, and change them. But, once their napping or asleep at night, he's ready for the spot light! Ewan knows that when they're asleep, he has Paul and me all to himself! We are very lucky to have him! We love you, Ewan!
